Season’s greetings!
/ by Jan
The whole team wishes you a merry christmas and a happy year 2006!
Ok, we originally had the idea to have a jolly Santa Emo here, but alas, the modellers had been fallen prey to the holiday spirit already. And sadly, all I can do is mirror spheres on checkerboards. I tried to put a red cap onto the sphere, but now it looked like Tim Allen. So, no pic here.
But you could gather around the fireplace and sing along!

Happy holidays! I hope you have a nice christmas. Take a few minutes break;)
Happy new year Jan! All the best to you and all the Orange team. Hope everyone enjoys their well deserved break.
Sadly I find no words to your song. ;) Guess I’ll just have to whistle. Although I’m not too sure my chops are up to par. How do you get the horns into your recordings anyway? Is everything digital? Really nice. Always impressed with the quality of your work. To bad the recording isn’t in mp3 though, have to figure a way to rip a mov file now. Maybe Itunes will do that.
Well, bother, now I see mp3 and was seeing mov. \../ All the same, still a very nice track. So much soul. Excellent blend of German precision and American jazz. Very clean.
Heh, i hoped there will be all orange guys singing christmas carrols :D
Finally a Christmas carol remix that doesn’t suck! Excellent work, jazzy and smooth.
Oh yes…and Merry Christmas all :)
Yeah, really nice work Jan!
Are all your Horns/Strings and things like that generated? Samples? Live? With your work on that Symphonic Orchestra Platinum Pro XP, thing, I would think Samples…
Nice song. I got the feeling that it was made in Fruity Loops… is that correct?
Anyway… Marry X-mas to you all!
On a philosophical note – rubbleman has been around this world quite a long time now and he has seen a lot of things and people come and go.Sometimes rubbly is upset cause he still sees as much unnecessary suffering, violence and bad stuff as when he was young man and other times he is uplifted and his hopes are renewed by good things he comes across like Jan’s talent for making music. That version sounded very good to my ears and I heard many of them :o)
Blender is a very good thing and rubbleman very much likes the special spirit of sharing and cooperation here from persons of all ages and nationality.Sometimes I wish I knew more about the workings of programs to make stuff or help but all I can offer is support and appreciation of others.
Thankyou everyone for making Blender a success and available for people like myself with limited resources and know how.
I wish good things for you all this next year where ever and who ever you are.Hopefully Jan is world famous composer one day soon.
regards rubbleman
wishing you merry christmas too!
happy fruitfull newyear to everyone.
Merry christmas everyone! Matt and I are just back in the studio since we took a 2 day christmas break for some “people time” and relaxation.
Many thanks to Jan for filling in the christmas blog and to everyone for their well-wishes.
And I second rubbleman’s wishes for Jan’s career.
Bassam
Hey, thanks alot for the uplifting comments, I’m glad you liked that little tune! :)
Marty_D, Myster_EE: Yup, the song is 100% electronics – after all, it was just a fun weekend project ;)
Kothe: No, my host sequencer is Logic Pro 7.
Ho Ho Ho! merry Christmas!!!!
MERRRRRRRRRRY CHristams to all of you!!!
Peace & love, even to either the two 20to30!!!
I love you all!!
Merry Christmas and a happy and successful new year 2006 (the year that will go down in history as the year of ‘Elephants Dream’) to the whole orange team, and everybody who reads this blog!
Ah, Jan, we can’t stop listening to it here. So smooth! Smooth like a smooth operator.
Merry Christmas to all from Italy! ;-)
Jan: very cool song, i like a lot the second refrain synth sound, it seems a vintage C64 sound, very good filtered and harmonized! :-D
My compliments! ;-)

Great song. I listen to it with amaroK, which has last.fm support. So I went to see it in my profile, clicked on the song and whaddaya know! 123 more have already been listening. Check it out here http://www.last.fm/music/Jan+Morgenstern/_/God+Rest+Ye+Merry+Gentlemen+(Jan's+Vectorized+Dub+Mix)
At least today it will be the sole music in my playlist. Great music must be listened to. I agree with Matt, it is smooth.
Btw, the tagging info in amaroK shows it is tagged as reggae?

PS. for fun I founded a Blender 3D group at last.fm, so join if you are scrobbling too http://www.last.fm/group/Blender+3D ;)
The link to the song above is broken. Copy and paste the entire link (including (Jan’s+Vectorized+Dub+Mix) !)

Yesyes, triple-post. I cannot read. It is 123 people having listened to songs by Jan. (Must be cool music too)
now that xmas’s gone it’s time to wish happy new year.
here in italy we say you’d better do a certain thing the night of the first of the year to assure you’ll do it for the rest of the year!
you can easily guess what we’re talkin’ about :)
so I wish everybody an “intense” happy new year!!
sleep?
work?
Heh, Think more Mediterranean-romantically themed…
ooh, pizza?
At my age I only have dim memory of effect of romance but I think we need to make sure Ton is out of office for girl chasing at least for New Year.If he forgets how we have Bassam retell him about it. This man Ton he worries me.I peek at the commit log again and…he works over Xmas doing node making stuff! I bet he has no sleep and live on pizza.Bah.What you do with compulsive coder like that other than reluctantly take his work and tell him not to do it again ;o)
…Wish you a merry christmas….!!!
By the way I managed to boot Blender under FreeBSD…and some parts of my upcoming film will be done under this…!!!
See you all next year….:-)

Happy holidays (since Christmas passed) and a happy new years to everyone!
it’s bed-related but it’s not sleeping
it’s fatigue-related but it’s not working
it’s satisfaction-related but it’s not pizza
it’s also fluid-related but it’s not blender at all ;)
if someone’s wondering why he should take a break from coding I can answer the world needs future blender users, we have to create them…
hope you all had merry xmas!
i wish the orange team, blender coders and all other people a happy new year 2006! :-)
